Town went into the game in confident mood having beaten Afan Lido earlier in the season and with current form being good despite recent defeats
The visitors took an early lead through Ieuan Owen who scored just seconds after Mikey Morris went close at the other end for Town. Despite the setback Town were playing well but struggled to create any clear chances until the 41st minute when Town thought they had scored but the match official disallowed the goal for hand ball. Just as the half came to an end though Town equalised as Iestyn Williams broke forward and he found Joe Lloyd who finished well to make the half time score 1-1
Town unfortunately didn't build on this as just minutes after the second half started Owen latched on to the ball in the area and finished well giving Filip Lisczyk no chance in the goal. Town were struggling to make any real impact and on 75 minutes Afan Lido extended their lead from a free kick as Cai Owens rose above everyone to head home
With the game looking lost for Town a life line came 3 minutes into added time as Iestyn Williams's free kick went through everyone and found the back of the net. Town then pushed for an equaliser but there was little time left so Afan Lido took the 3 points back to Port Talbot
It was overall a great advert for Tier 2 football but again the game was dominated by the match official who, on this day, seemed to deem every free kick a yellow card with a total of 10 yellow cards being issued. Over the weekend 39 yellows and 4 reds were issued in the 7 Cymru South fixtures ... with a fine to be paid to the FAW of £12 per card it is no wonder the Senior squad travel first class ... lol !!!
